Description

Dutch stoneware bottle originally containing gin. Light tan, wheel-thrown ceramic bottle. Bottle has tall cylindrical body with short neck. Mouth and most of neck covered with lead foil impressed with a circular seal reading "WYNAND FOCKINK AMSTERDAM" around a nine-petal flower. A wide yet short handle is affixed to one shoulder. Inscribed on the opposing shoulder is an oval seal reading "AMSTERDAMSCHE" around a lion. About one inch above the base, the word "AMSTERDAM" is stamped into clay.
